There was plenty of excitement at Michaelstowe Care Home as residents welcomed some very special four-legged visitors from Tavistock Therapy Goats.

The adorable pygmy goats quickly became the centre of attention, bringing smiles and laughter throughout the home. Residents enjoyed spending time with them in a variety of ways, from gently stroking them to holding their leads and walking them around. The photos capture some lovely moments, including residents cuddling and stroking both the brown and the black-and-white goats, as well as close-up images showing just how charming these little visitors were.

Animal visits like this can have a wonderfully positive impact on wellbeing. They encourage interaction, spark conversation and often bring back happy memories for residents. At Michaelstowe, the goats created a relaxed and joyful atmosphere, with many residents clearly delighted by the chance to get close to the animals and enjoy their playful company.

One image shows a resident confidently holding the leads of the pygmy goats, while another captures a male resident gently stroking one of the goats with its owner close by. These moments reflect the calm, engaging nature of the visit and the genuine enjoyment it brought.

A big thank you goes to Tavistock Therapy Goats for such a successful visit. Their pygmy goats were a big hit with everyone at Michaelstowe, and residents will no doubt be pleased to see them again in the future.
