Residents at Michaelstowe enjoyed a lovely Easter celebration, with good food, themed games and plenty of cheerful moments shared together.
The day included a traditional fish and chip supper served in newspaper, giving the occasion a familiar and comforting feel, along with an Easter cake to add a sweet touch to the celebrations. Photos also show residents getting into the spirit of the day by wearing Easter bonnets and bunny ears, helping to create a fun and festive atmosphere around the home.
There was plenty of activity too, with residents taking part in Easter-themed games, including an Easter egg hunt. Congratulations went to Carole, who was the winner of the hunt, and to Joan, who took the crown in the Easter bonnet competition. Images also show carers handing out Easter eggs to residents and residents placing plastic eggs into decorated boxes in the garden as part of the day’s games.
Celebrations like this are a wonderful way to bring people together. Shared meals, light-hearted competitions and seasonal activities can all support residents’ wellbeing by encouraging social interaction, laughter and a sense of occasion. They also help create moments of enjoyment that residents and staff can share together.
It was a warm and happy Easter at Michaelstowe, with lots of smiles and some well-earned congratulations all round.
